  • Ford 6.0 Powerstroke - Preparing for Roadtrip

    2005 4x4 with 103k miles.

So I'm far from an expert on these engines. It's due for an oil change. I'm busy and hate the heat, so I'm going to pay someone to do the job. It's going on a 2000 mile trek soon through high altitude and rough terrain. Besides the oil change, new fuel filter, and topping off the fluids and tire pressure, what other maintenance type things should I check out or have done before the trip? Thanks in advance!

i would def check the suspension components such as ball joints, drive shafts and steering linkages. wouldn't hurt to check or replace the serpentine belt if you've never done so and is showing signs of wear. maybe even a tire rotation.
    also check the coolant
    hope this helps
