  • Bleeding a master cylinder on the car.

I know we have had the discussion of bench bleeding the master cylinder so I thought this was a neat trick since my new one did not come with the little kit. My old man showed me how to do it on the car today. We were working on the Galaxie and I put on the new master cylinder and I started telling him about how long it took and what a pain in the ass it was to bleed the Vette MC and calipers on the 82. His smart ass went right up front and loosened the front line on the MC and had me push the peddle to the floor a few times till it dripped a little out the fitting. I think he closed it off every time so no air pulled back in. Then he did the rear one the same way, and the wheel cylinders were all left closed. I will be damned it worked like a champ. We had the MC and wheel cylinders bled in less then 20 minutes.

On a side note Napa rocks. Got every brake part and suspension bushing in, in one day. Also to my shock and disbelief every part was correct and went on perfect today. Okay the brake parts that is, going to pay someone to do the bushings. LOL
    Whos your Daddy?

I learned that lesson a while back while replacing a master in my 2000. The guys at Autozone actually suggested it! I was impressed and work with that particular person every time I can.

My dad also schooled me on this process. I felt like a moron.
