I'm putting in a 25 gallon Fuel cell in the back of the '66 stang, JAZ 33 X 17.5 X 10. The stock tank was only 16 gal. What height should I put the new cell in the trunk ? Same as the old tank ? Higher /Lower ?
This is a autocross / roadrace car per the 1972 Trans Am series. I have to replace the stock tank and already have the bigger fuel cell.
Clearence is just above the centerline of the rear axle for the stock height. I'm thinkin' that the lower the better for a lower center of gravity. Have to build a steel box around it no matter what.
Any Ideas guys ? Just an FYI, been known to drive in the dirt now and then, you know, driver error.
