  • A/C Evac and Charge near N. Arlington (ls-coupe is ready, pics inside)

Got the A/C system on the LS-coupe ready to charge. Called Firestone and they want 130, called PepBoys (have $15 off coupon) and they wouldn't give me an exact number (?) but said it should be around 130 as well.

Just wondering if anyone somewhat local to me has a setup or has a hookup at a shop.

Ended up going with a modified Escalade accumulator, Escalade Denso compressor, f-body condensor/evap/orfice. Wired in a low pressure switch to keep it from freezing over.

If you bring the freon I'll do it for a 24 pack of Miller light. I'm off of I30 and Cooks.

I talked with a couple of a/c guys that deal with conversions and they said as long as the the bottom of the tank was the lowest point I wont have an issue. It was the only way it'd fit in there.

I believe the LS1 a/c system calls for 1.5lbs, since I am using the Escalade accumulator and Escalade compressor I am not exactly sure how much it will hold. How much r134a should I buy?

Go ahead and buy three 12 oz cans (2 lbs 4 oz). We will charge it until the pressures are correct. It's probably between 1.5 and 2 lbs.

Sounds crazy but yes. Half the price of autoparts store.
