  • How about the Victor 5.0 EFI Intake?

Anyone here run this intake and like or dislike it? I have a 331 in my 95 Cobra. I'm about to install some box stock Eddy Victor Jr. heads. Combo should be stock block with a Scat stoker kit, balanced, 60cc Vic Jr heads, SPR pistons that will produce 10.5:1 comp ratio, Isky Cmashaft with 228/238 dur@ .050 and .550/.574 Lift with a 112 LSA and 109ยบ of overlap. My current intake is a ported factory Cobra upper and lower with a 65mm tb and 90mm LMAF meter. So I'm really leaning towards the Victor 5.0 intake with a 90mm tb or a 75 mm Accufab race that has a 90mm opening. Other options are the Systemax, and the TFS R, but I really don't like the way the TFS R looks. Just shooting for some high 13's here.

I have one I was going to put on my 331 and turbo it, but I stuck with the N/A combo. If you're not planning on some sort of forced induction, the Victor 5.0 will be overkill. You will lose some low end. If you still want it, I still have the Victor and an 80mm TB I can let go. If I put boost to anything, it will be the CTS-V.

Your combo should get you a lot more than 13s.

Paul you don't like the Victor 5.0? We discussed this in the past I believe. I realy like the fact that I can remove the VC's with the Victor 5.0. I know this is web racing but I saw a couple combos that were built using 347's with Vic 5.0 intake. The camshaft was under 240 duration and the power peaked at 6200 rpm. Do you think the Victor 5.0 will give up a lot of tq to the RPM II? I could have Tom Moss port the RPM II or even an RPM I which he prefers I believe. I could buy an RPM I for about $275 used then pay him $150 for a port job. I believe he gets over 300 cfm with there intakes. What does the Victor 5.0 flow?

If you use the victor you need to port the heads and use a bigger cam and turn it to 7000. I have a victor efi for a windsor and edelbrock said it was to big for a 410 with ported jrs and a solid roller w/242/248 @.050 and 620 lift.

the victor is a good intake, but if you can find an rpm2 I think itd be a better all around choice

I have an RPM II with a 70mm Throttle body. I am looking at getting the Victor for my race car. Anyone want to trade?

I was looking at some dyno graphs of 331's and 347's with the Victor 5.0 intake. 75% of them including several youtube videos on the dyno show peak power to be at 6200ish and still show over 300#'s of tq at 2500 rpm. I think I'm going to go ahead and give the Victor 5.0 a shot. Since I have a datlogger and a wideband I'll adjust the tune and crank the timing up in the lower rpm range, tinker with the AFR, and maybe injector timing in an attempt to make it as street fiendly as possible. If I can't get it to my satisfaction I will swap out to an RPMII or TF "R".

I know this is a 347 but it's close. It peaks about 6200 rpm with the Victor 5.0 intake. Sorry but I don't know how to embed the video.

Here is the dyno of my 331 with an RPM2. I am wanting a victor for my new motor, the 363 stroker. You do what you want.....but the Victor is overkill for a 331. This is with AFR 165 heads too. RPM II is more then enough. My 2 cents.
