Calm down, just a discussion. lol.

The internals of your car will not handle the same amount of power as a stock 03/04 Cobra motor will.

Yes, the Coyote motor makes great power, but it's power potential in stock form is not near as good.
I'm not worked up at all, just having a discussion. I agree, the internals on the coyote are not as strong as the termi, but the termi was built to handle boost from the factory and have a warranty so it was "overbuilt" for the relatively small amount of boost it comes with from the factory.

If the coyote was built with boost in mind, it would have all forged internals. In any case, there are already rod and piston kits out for the coyote that will handle 1,500hp+.

Just look at Evolution Performance's cars. They have a stock block, stock internals car going 9's at 140+mph in the 1/4
Their other car got new internals and is running 8's in the 1/4.
These are cars that weigh a couple hundred pounds more than the termi...

August 2011 issue of 5.0 mustang & super fords has done this swap. They used the maximum motorsports k member and the bbk fox swap headers. Supposedly other brand 4.6 k members have clearance issues with the coyote oil pan. You'll obviously need to convert to hydroboost if you haven't already. They also used the radiator, fan, and accessories of a 03' gt if I remember right.

Way too much money right now for what you get out IMO.

My copy of 5.0 hadn't come in yet when I posted this, it was in the mail that afternoon. Gonna weigh the pros and cons, then decide.

Also, been thinking about an 03-04 Mach 1. What's the difference between the longblock in this car vs. the terminator longblock?

I'd be more interested in a Coyote swap for my fox when tougher rotating assemblies become more available/affordable. Until then, the pushrod 5.0 I have will have to suffice.

                electric powersteering unit.

possibly other small stuff to get the dash to work/gauges and such.

I've considered it but for the 10k to 12k it would take to do it right, I'll put a carbed aluminum 351 in the car first.

it's a race car. Simple is key and I can fart with tuning at the track without having to have a laptop sitting around. would be a lot lighter too.

How would it be a lot lighter? The Coyote is only around 440 lbs

An alloy block 351 would be lighter than that by enough to matter in a competitive class. You've got to remember: Everything he can do, everyone else can, too.

I think he means Al carb 351 vs Al EFI 351. Also if compared to the new 5.0 look where all the weight on the motor is.

For a poor mans track car a carb powerplant will win in about every category.

OK, looking at the figures I am now thinking of just going with a low comp 408 EFI so that I can turbo later. What would this swap need? Different motor mounts? I know different headers, but this should be a pretty simple swap shouldn't it, at least compared to the coyote?
