  • Rattling type noise from TC cover...

On a 2001 GT, I put on a auto stethascope(sp?) and it isnt coming from any other place but the top passanger side of the timing chain cover. I took off the belt and its still going it, so its not any of the accessories, water pump or CS dampner. It also doesnt seem likes its coming from valve cover area. Any thoughts?

So it sounds like the timing chain cover need to come off, huh? Im assuming the valve covers will too, what about the oil pan?

you can squeeze the timing cover out from underneath the valve covers and with the pan in place. just loosen the valve covers to allow a little wiggle room, and dont forget the grey RTV in the seams.

You can, but it's a fuckload easier if you loosen the valve cover bolts off a few turns.
