      Doesn't Weld make a 17" front runner?

Another vote for 94-98 cobra sparee tires. You could probably find a cheap pair at a junkyard or online or something.

Here's a link to the Welds, they are pricey, at $490 a piece for 5" wide, but they're a damn sharp lookin' wheel.

It seems like all of the options are pretty expensive. 1) Cobra Spares- selling for $150 or so on Ebay, then you need to put an M&H 17x4.5 or 17x6" tire on it and those are $150 each as well. So you're in for $600. 2.) Weld= $1000 + tires. Maybe the homealone option isn't as expensive as I thought...

The ones listed above for $490 or a different brand? I heard Greg Weld used to make some but I don't think they do anymore.

Doug - I paid $100 for my Cobra spare a few years ago. Economy sucks and it's a buyers market. I'd bet you could get two for $150 total. When I ran my old '97 GT on spares I got tires from Pep Boys. I think they were P195's and speed rated to 120 mph, which was enough for that car (ran 107 mph in the 1/4). They were pretty inexpensive. I want to say like $50 each or so. Obviously your car is faster but tires like those might still work for 1/8 mile.

No need to spend a lot if you only hit the track 2-3 times a year.

195's are the narrowest 17" on tirerack (7.6"). The donut is a 155" (6.1"). I wasn't sure if I could use the 195's, but if so, that'd definitely help out. Ebay's probably a little high vs. finding one at a yard or something.

Post a WTB add on here and maybe check with Whiteboy (Jeremy). Just to clarify, the spares that I ran on my '97 GT were regular GT spares with 195's but should work the same on Cobra spares. Main thing is watch the speed rating. For 1/8 should be fine but maybe not for your car in the 1/4.

You mean Greg Weld, of Weld Racing Wheels? Greg started/owned Weld until he sold it a few years ago.
