  • Mass air meter question

I NOT SURE IF MY METER IS WORKING! MY CAR IS RUNNIG REALLY RICH AND I HAVE BEEN REPAIRING VACUUM LEAKS. I UNPLUGGED MY MASS AIR METER WHILE THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND IT DIDNT MISS A BEAT. IT RAN THE SAME. SHOULD THE CAR START TO STUMBLE AND HESITATE WHEN IT IS UNPLUGGED? I EVEN REVED IT UP AND IT STILL RAN LIKE IT WAS CONNECTED.

There is no change at all when my mass air meter is unplugged. Can it be tested with a volt meter? Or how can i test it?

Have you pulled the diagnostic codes yet?

No codes! I just swaped my comp 2 weeks ago to a (a9l). There has been no diff in the way it runs other than it running really rich. It went 9.0 in the 1/8. Mods-3:55 gears, full exhaust, pullies, rear upper and lower control arms, lowered, and a cobra upper/lower e CAM and a stock air box with a k&n. Ive just been trying to tighten it up and make it run good-dailey driver w/ air cond.

No codes, or just no CEL on? If you are running rich then there will be codes.

Have not pulled them yet! I am still working on pulling off all the smog crap, and fixing vacuum leaks. How do i test the meter? I would think the car would try to stall if it was unplugged????????????????
