Can an A/C shop reuse hose ends to make new hoses?

I know I should be asking a hose shop, but other than the two that were referred by other board members I don't know who to go to. Stuart Hose doesn't do any aluminum brazing, and the guy at Kims Hose was in a rush and while he said he could do it I am a little worried he didn't exactly know what I want.

I tried buying a bunch of hose and fittings from a site called docs blocks but after placing the order I got an email saying that about half what I ordered is out of stock with no eta.

So back to the drawing board. I figure since I have all of the hoses, they just don't fit length/bend wise, I could have a company cut the hose ends off my current lines, braze them to a bradlock fitting, then just have them make them the right lengths. Seems simple enough to me, but I don't know much about the process. Below you will find pictures of all the ends that I'd need cut off and made into custom lines.




Also, Kims said about $40 per line, is this reasonable? Any other suggestions, preferably a place open on saturdays.

Lastly, is there anything wrong with mounting an accumulator on it's side?

obviously, but if they cut it off at the tube can they braze a splice on then connect a new beadlock/hose then crimp?

Why not just take your hose up to Kim's and say "I need these hoses?" I guess I don't fully understand what you're asking.

They don't have the GM specific hose ends to work with my compressor/accumulator/condensor/evaporater. So I figure since I already have all of the hoses (with the correct ends) that they could cut the old hose ends off then make new hoses utilizing these hose ends.

Possibly, but finding any place that is going to stock the correct hose ends for each part of the GM a/c system is not as easy as it sounds. The compressor fittings are different for each of the compressors for example, no way that they'd have a fitting for every compressor out there.

O'Reilly's for sure can't do what I am looking for, which is someone to cut the current hoses then braze a beadlock fitting to them, the make/crimp new hose to that.

i had some lines spliced for a 5.0 volvo i built. napa spliced the rubber part of two different ends (ford from the compressor/volvo on dryer side.

Yes, Austin Baker in Denton can do this for you no problem and they are pretty cheap. I had custom hoses made to re-route my ac lines when I put my turbo kit on. I also had them "rebuild" one of the other hoses.

I've used 4-star Hose in Garland before and had good results, might call them and ask at least.

in the past I've taken a cutoff wheel and cut the crimped portion leaving the barbed portion... buy the correct hose from an auto parts store and use some quality hose clamps that won't dig into the rubber, and you're golden

Yes they can reuse the end fittings..as mentioned they just cut the odd crimp off and use new hose to the correct length. I have had several hoses made up for swaps I have done over the years.....I have used AC Parts Warehouse in Rockwall a few times for this.....
