Nah the pin is easy as long as the bolt doesn't break.,

Ive swapped axles 4 times already lol.

The first pop I was unsure wtf happen and nothing happen afterwards. The night I found out it was trashed I drove it home. About 3 miles.

If it's already broke, why bother?

Because a granny would have been able to keep the ring gear bolts in, even if they were loose!

Yeah, because driving like an idiot would never increase metal deflection , am I right?

Ring gear bolts are the same as flywheel bolts right?

I tried looking on late model quickly and it pulled up 8.8 ring gear bolt and flex plate bolt.

            3$ a peice! Damn!

Also with my car being stock power, should I upgrade to cobra clutches?

I plan on building a rear end later with better internals.

The stock replacement clutches should hold fine right? I plan on feeding it some juice sometimes.

Even the average autozone button-pusher should know that increasing the stress on fasteners will accelerate the rate that they stretch and loosen.

well to be constructive.... rip it apart clean everything, replace clutchs in diff and make sure its not cracked. the ring gear being loose would worry me a little. replace all bearings and races, outter bearing and seals and be good to go. get a bearing install kit from anywhere most come with all bearings, seals, pinion nut, and ring gear bolts. they are like 90 bucks. if you need help setting up backlash or pinion bearing preload give me a shout I'll help you out.

also not being ford gears has nothing to do with whinning its all in the setup. hopefully this thread will get back on the right track. I mean we have all screwed something up do to abuse or misuse. thats is part of the territory.

Hey turbo. Here's my idea just for now.

Take the carrier out and check for cracks and damage. Replace the clutches and figure out the wiggle.

I'm trying to do this on a budget of somekind and I know I'm not suppose to due to metal shavings, but clean and replace the bearings as good as possible and set the Carrier in place using the same shims I took out?

That should get me by until I can build a 31 spline out of my extra rear end I have?
