  • Rear end popping?!!

So I get out on the road. Rip 1st and second to hear a big ass pop, and at low speeds it pops, decel it does not pop and turning doesn't effect it.

Ive seen spider gears give out and pop while turning.

What kind of damage should I expect when I tear this apart?

Sa-weet it needed to be gone through and now I have a reason!

Could be ripped and the sound is the control arm poping . Look them over real close .

Just took a quick glance and they looked fine. I checked upper and lower, grabbed the control arm and it feels fine.. I'll look them over better tomorrow though.

If I grab the wheel it will wiggle ALOT and you can hear it banging around in the diff.

If I hit the tire you can hear it banging too.

You will have a little clunking in the diff and a little in and out motion put it should not be a ton . You could have a bad bearing or damaged the diff . You will have to pull it apart to know for sure . How are the u-joints .

6 mo old ford racing alum drive shaft. It's def not a u joint pop.

This rear end came out of a car I bought a while back, it's always whined a little. So anything is possible.

I think I broke a tooth on the ring or pinion gear. My guess...

Last week I was pulling onto the highway and I heard a loud ass pop, It sounded like I ran something over, but I didnt feel anything. Maybe it's related?

                            Not going to argue that!

I'm suprised it lasted me this long!

                            Oh well!

If it is shot should I go 3.55 or go back to a 3.73?

I've seen stock 5.0's break shit. Keep trying and the whole thing will be toast. Enjoy!
