  • Voltage question on my toy

Let me start by saying I have an autometer volt guage and that is what I'm basing my numbers on. Now for my story/question; I worked on my toy today for the first time in a few months (this was a problem before I let it sit). Once it started it was running at 13.5 volts and once I turned the headlights on it dropped to 11 but quickly rose back up to 13.5. Once I turned on my 100w offroad lights it dropped to 10.5 and stayed there. I have a spare regulator and put it on, started the truck and the voltage immediately jumped up over 15v. Turned on the 100w lights and it dropped to 10 and stayed there; after revving the engine up to 2500rpms the voltage went back up to over 15. Let off the accelerator and the voltage drops. I had my alternator checked bad in mid feb and it checked out ok and it has been sitting since Good Friday, but I'm not sure it's not the alternator going bad. Just seeing what other people think, and now that you've read everything, what i'm working on is an 84 Bronco II (yes I know the bastard child of the ford trucks) with a 2.8.
    Thanks for looking
