Coming home from Angel Fire yesterday my Auto Climate control in my F-150 got stuck on heat after needed to use the defroster in the 36 deg. mountain air. No matter what setting/ temp I have it on it blows air hot enough to burn your hand. I have researched and found out that it is the motor that opens up the door that directs the air. It got stuck in the position that sends all air through the heater core. The bottom of the box gets cold so the A/C does work... it just isnt flowing the air right. Also, in vent mode ( even at 80 deg outside) it still blows extremely hot air.
How hard is this replace? Can anyone with access to All-data give me the step by step process to replace this?
2007 F150 Lariat.
Thanks in advance! And yes, the 12 hr drive home through West Texas was absolutely miserable yestereday with temps ranging 108-110 for atleast 5-6 hrs of the trip.
