So i recently rebuilt my foxbodys motor with ported gt40p's, matching ported gt40 lower intake, 3000 stall and an ecam and i dont feel like the car is running like it should be. It has basic bolt on's like cold air, headers, has stock throttle body, mass air, stock aod and stock 2.73 gears. The timing has been set at 16 degrees. Took it to the track yesterday and it ran a 10.2 in the 1/8th with a 2.3 sec 60 ft and before any of those upgrades it was running a 10.7 in the 1/8th. I also noticed it has a manual transmission computer and i dont know how big of a difference if any that may make on it. I know gears and an maybe a shiftkit on the aod will help a lot but idk if the car should be running as slow as it feels. Anybody have any suggestions as to why it may be running the way it is?

Damn, the a9p bumps timing up an extra 10degrees to help with spinning the converter. It does this in LoW rpm under 2500.
The gears will Hurt you, but I've seen a 100% stock AOD trans with 2.73s running 9.3 at 78 mph.

Auto with those gears won't do much better.
What tires? Will the stall flash a true 3k? That computer is fine.
You have AC and PS still?
I ran a 12.40 1/4 with gt40 heads/cobra intake at 3,100 with a aod. I had 4.10 gears and a 4k stall though, stock kmember, full exhaust with tails, on 26" drag radials. No ac, it did have power steering.
You get it to 60' in the 1.8's and you have a 9.7 car. Won't get there without gears and stickies though.
I guess the conversion for that time is almost a 16 sec qtr. I've ran faster than that in a bone stock minus air silencer and cats coupe. Is that 1000'? That would make more sense.

It feels real slow coming out from a launch, it feels sluggish then picks up a little bit. Ill have to try an a9p. Just regular street tires it doesnt spin out too much, yea a tru 3k it stalls pretty high. Still running the A.C and PS. Ill probably be putting in gears next, was thinkin 3.73s but i think i may go with the 4.10s.
I was thinking atleast in the 9s with the ported heads cam and ported intake

I'd run a compression and leak down test to ensure the shortblock is in good shape. Even with stock tb mass air and the 2.73 you should be mid to low 9's. How is your fuel pressure looking? Filter and pump up to par? Sounds like something is a-miss and not allowing it to run properly..
