    Not to say anything but....

2v on a 98 maybe the cheaper route but a stock Mach 1 engine with a tune (as needed anyways) would put down 320hp 330trq at the wheels.

I know someone with a Mach swapped 01 GT stock intake tube to even the manifolds with cats it put down 317 330 on a HPP tune. Runs 8.4 at 84 with slicks and 3.27 gears.

    320rwhp. 7.67 @ 90mph 1.7 60'

I paid $6k for a 30k mile '03 Cobra motor and T56 with everything I needed to swap it - fuel system, computer, wiring, gauge cluster, driveshaft, etc. Deals are out there if you keep looking. Bone stock swap into my '00 trapped 116 in the 1/4.
Atlantic Blue '00 - '03 Cobra motor and TKO600, solid axle, full MM suspension
      Silver '01 Vette - D1 blown LS

It would be easier to stay with the coil packs like you have now, you'll just need to find early 4v valve covers that used wires.

You could do an 99-01 cobra swap and have teskid block, which is strong enough to do whAtever you want.

Just do some research and itll make sense.

Only early 99 cobras came with teksid ....the Rest were wap blocks

                    Find one of those then.

Do a 351 swap and Put a turbo on it.

                    No one will catch you.

It should just drop right end, and you'll need a tune afterwards.

This will be the best option, over a Pi swap or anything the 2v has to offer.

With stock Mach 1 engine internals you are limited to 450-470rwhp before you start to bend and break connecting rods. The block is good for around 700hp and is the lightest of them.

You could do an 99-01 cobra swap and have teskid block, which is strong enough to do whAtever you want.

Teskid came in 96-98 cobras, 93-98 Mark viiis, 99-01 cobras.

03-04 cobra blocks are cast iron, the Mach 1 and aviator blocks are aluminum.

There are c heads and b heads. And a lot of differant cams.

B heads respond well to boost, but you can't put as big of a roots style on them like you can the c head.

Just do some research and itll make sense.
B heads are garbage. Iron blocks work just fine when was the last time you saw a mod motor split a block? Its a waste of money modding a 2v. Just go 4v

Lol, make enough power and anything will break.

And LOL at the b head being garbage.

C heads are prefered for high end horsepower.

Throw boost on the b head and see if it's garbage then.
