Gearing, length of the race and traction is a huge factor. My mom has an 89 Iroc 5.7L with a 2.73 posi rear end. It's a quick SOB to 60, but it starts sucking wind after that. Also if you don't launch it just right you will spin all the way through 1st gear.

All 5.7L IROC's are automatics, they did not make it with a stick. The 5.0L IROC could have a manual.

I've seen them running 9.6 at te track lol.

        Most foxes run 9.3
They are surprisingly quick! C&D (or one of those magazines) got a 14.0 out of one... and damn near anyone could run quick times in a Camry. A decent driver should be able to make a fox run faster than that, but a lot of fox drivers suck!

I'm not sure that I've ever seen a Camaro without at least one primered panel. Was that a factory option? heh

            Should be interesting!

Last lt1 I ran was an auto and it was on the highway. I had 2:73s and I pulled him all the way until we both shut down.

I'm one of those shitty drivers! Lol

I'd expect a mid 13 out of my turd. :/

Then you will dust that LT1... if it is actually stock.

High 13's maybe. My bone stock LT1 did an 8.8 and ran 13.8 in the 1/4. 9.0's typically are 14.0's in the 1/4.

I guess anything is possible (downhill track, tailwind, etc!), I won't keyboard race you though, get out to a 1/4 and see what she does!

Car Craft did a shootout back in the early 90's....the Mustang won. Not sure now, but that magazine was pro-GM at the time, so I was suprised they said the Mustang won. They tested the 350 auto vs 5.0 5 speed.
