If you're military they rent shop space on base and loan tools. It's really a great setup, lifts, alignment rack, parts washers, a/c reclaimation, etc... for like $15 a day.

See that's what I'm trying to avoid though. Having to suck it up.

I'm not opposed to doing it outside, I just usually try to do all my major automotive projects in the winter, spring and fall. Wait... maybe there is like a low spot under a bridge somewhere, where I could park and do the work. Have you ever been driving along with the windows (or convertable top) down, and just hit a random cool spot? They exist. And they feel much cooler than the rest of the road. Maybe there is like a bridge or something somewhere, that is in one of those cool spots. Or like an old warehouse or something. I don't have much shade available to me, so if I don't find somewhere, I'll have to do this in the sun.

Did I miss it; do you not have a garage? Are you in a house or apartment?

If I did not have a garage, I would go the pop up shade route with some real good fans and an ice chest full of water.

If I had a garage; fans, fans and more fans. If you had the funds and planned on needing a cooled/heated space a lot; I would go split unit ductless design for an A/C. That is what I have in my garage and it is pretty damn nice. I am considering adding a standard elcheapo ceiling fan to move more air though.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Shade and a few fans I am good to go even in 100+ weather but I HATE doing anything in the sun.

Under a bridge, or in an old warehouse. I'll bring my gun in case any bums come along asking for money.

Got a garage or a carport that I can work in. No air conditioning, but a big ass fan. I do have a small work room that has a window unit, I use that when building small stuff like a transmission.

My shop at home has A/C, but I still wait till the sun's down before I run it. If I'm out there during the day I just open it up, turn my fans on, and sweat. It would cost a fortune to keep my shop at 75* so I work early mornings or late nights on my projects.

I just end up sweating balls, car port only and it sucks, part of the reason I only work on my own stuff and usually only at 8am-noon.

I threw a K-member and some control arms in my POS yesterday. It was damn hot but it's done minus an alignment.

I knew I would sleep in today so I went out yesterday at 830p and worked till 10p putting in a new tank and painting all the rear area. It wasnt to bad outside at that time of the day. Got a lot done and may do a little more tonight.

Sounds like someone needs to take up knitting....

Although I would never turn down a shop with A/C

Well I worked on stuff in an old abandoned warehouse situated under a bridge. And a bum came and stabbed me in the back. Thanks for that recommendation!

cruise through lowes at the end of the hot season. I found one of their 48" industrial fans on sale for $199...box was damaged and I told the manager I wanted the one the top shelf...he gave me another 10% off. That was a $400 fan and I got it for $180. 16000 cfm and only thing that allows me to stay out in the shop. Next purchase might we one of the evaporative coolers but fawk they want big coin for those!

Big fan and some of those misters around the outside edge! Not as good as A/C but it helps. Did it for more years than I care to remember.
