It seems obvious to me that you just don't have it lined up yet. DO NOT adjust your e-brake until you at least have the shoes centered in the backing plate and on the mount pads.

You say you have "compared it to the other side and it look the same" to you... but there is no f'ing way. I guarantee the side you left together has the shoes meeting up at the top center. Look how ridiculously far off it is in your pics. Try again.
I was referring to the springs, and cable were all in the correct places. I know the primary brake isn't set right, that is the whole problem. I can't get it to stay in place.

I took it all apart and threw it back together again last night with a better result but still not completely correct. The adjusting screw is at its smallest possible adjustment and it was a bitch to get on, but it is on. The center bar is really throwing the top of the primary brake off, everytime I "manhandle" and try to senter it up.

Are the shoes on the right side? I think on some set ups the shoe in front is different then the back shoe. Just throwing it out there. LOL It will make a difference because of the E brake thingy is deeper on one shoe then the other.
      Whos your Daddy?

I would like to thank duralast for packaging the wrong springs and I should kick myself in the ass for not comparing the old and new springs. I started counting the loops on the springs and found the bottom spring was short by a few loops. Had to go buy a new set for cheaper at o'really's

Damn that sucks - glad you got it fixed. But it is damn sure frustrating working against incorrect/bad parts.

No doubt it is frustrating. It was the only thing left.
