  • whats easier?

I'm helping a buddy pull a 302 outta his fox next weekend, its carb converted. We will replace it with another 302. Is it easier to pull with or without the tranny? I've never helped pull one without a tranny, just wondering if it was easier to just slide the tranny back and just pull the motor or pull it all out? Thanks in advance guys!!!

I prefer leaving the trans in it. As long as you can put the car on jack stands to disconnect the trans and pull the starter.

Pull it with the tranny, attach the new motor to the tranny out of the car and re-install as a single unit. Putting a tranny in with the car on jackstands SUCKS!

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I think we're just gonna take it out with the tranny sounds easier.

If you are not changing trannys, leave it in. It's pretty simple to just leave it there, especially on a standard tranny.
