  • Freshening up LSx motor

Who would you use? I want to use the stock internals (crank, rods & pistons), just hone the cylinders and new rings bearings and seals. What should I expect to pay for that?
    I build websites. PM me.

Agreed. Probably just some ARP rod bolts, and the rest oem.

        WATT or BARR
call them, they may give you a deal of the century.
        $1200-$1500 i would assume.
rod bolts yes, especially if your tearing it down,if not leave them alone.
you should know all this being an x CTS-V owner. lol

Well I do know most of it, but I've never had a motor just freshened up. I wouldn't think $1200-1500 for just a hone, rings and bearings though if i'm providing a rebuild-able shortblock. I could be wrong... There was a brand new LY6 (ironblock 6.0 with L92 heads) shortblock on eBay that just sold for $700 out of waco, probably should have just bought that.

When I had my 403 built, that was a completely separate deal since it was fully built.

A buddy just had one done at Wells. Original quote was 13xx. I had them check p to v and flycut the pistons. Everything you described and he replaced a rod an we provided ARP rod bolts. 16xx out the door. It grenades in ~15 mins with a
Spun cam bearing. Mind you, everything was in working order when taken to him.

My original idea was to pick up a 6.0 and just rebuild it, but you can buy new 6.0 shortblocks for that much or even ones that dont need rebuilt for less.

Mike, text me, I need a couple things.

Spend the money & get a good short block build. If you dont spend it now. you will just spend it later! I have a forged short block I got build by Eric in Houston for $2800. Forged Rods & Pistons & bored 20 over, Im pretty sure it will be cheaper now with prices dropping on everything with the car world!

Watt knows his stuff. He has been around the Lewisville area with CJ and the pool boys here lately.
