  • 97 Cobra Airbag light + Horn stopped working

Anybody ever had this happen? Is there just one wire that came unplugged or something?

        clockspring.

dont be scared of the airbag, just unhook the battery and let it sit for 30 minutes before servicing it.

I HAVE messed with airbags with live power, it was nerve racking but nothing ever came about it.

If you put a early 90s ford Airbag inside of the freezer section of a traditional refrigerator and set it off, it will blow the fridge in half, and the door smooth off.

        Becareful.

Isn't there a sensor you can unplug and discharge the air bag capacitor?

Well the day one blows in your face you may realize why they say to discharge the system before service.

That being said, I disconnect power to the airbag before doing any work around the steering column in my vehicles.

                          That doesn't make it smart.
