  • what tranny cooler would you reccomend?

ive got a 85gt with about300to the wheels and plan on spraying another 50-100hp. car has a new pan fill c4 with some good parts and good converter.

heres my question, what size or style tranny cooler should i use, i know i can route my cooler through the radiatior since its for a automatic but i dont even know if i should bother doing that. what do you use? car will be a daily driver for the most part though i dont drive much, just to work and the occasinal trip to kdale. i prefer somthing i can get through autozone, but i have no idea on the diminsions/brand/style i would want.

    thanks for the help.

    Bigger is better.

I would highly recommend anything that uses a screw in fitting first - using NO hose to connect the two. (screw metal line directly into the cooler)

B&M (setrab) style bar and plate coolers are best, but they're more expensive than others.

If you absolutely MUST use hose (but you don't!) be sure to use the transmission pressure rated hoses and more than one clamp on each end.

B&M bar and plate, they come with or without a fan built in depending on where you want to mount it.

I have a B&M bar plate cooler I'm not using. It has no fan but it has push lock style lines and -6AN fittings on it. Make an off and come get it if you want Steve... I'm using an Earl's Stack plate cooler now so I don't need that other one.

i had real good luck with the standard b&m super cooler. made a nice clean install using the nylon ties. and if you really want optimum efficiency get yourself a flare kit and run steel tubing. cools a lot better than the supplied rubber hoses. copper sucks as the flares are usually weak and too pliable.
