sister-inlaw needs battery replaced in 2004 clk320. what are the correct steps? she doesn't have a manual and i don't see anything that talks about the proper steps. I did see something about re-coding the windows, stereo, and re-syncing the conv top, so i'm nervous about it. i have no clue how to do this. the specific codes are probably in the manual so she' probably screwed anyway. any help is much appreciated. vautozone has type 49 batts for like 80$. the dealer is like 125-170 but they put it in, just trying to save her alittle money. once again thanks for any help.

not at work so I can't look anything up, but if you're worried about losing settings and such connect it to something with jumper cables so it has continuous power during the battery change.

Tell her to call MB roadside assisatance. If she has serviced her car at a MB dealer in the past 18 months they will bring a battery to her car, put it in and she will only have to pay for the battery no labor.

all oil changes were done at a MB dealership, but in okc. she had a expedition, sold it, and took over payments on the 320. it was her sisters in okc. so never been to a dealer in tx. will that matter?

1-800-FOR-MER for roadside. You will need to get radio code if you lose power to veh. There is a device that plugs in lighter for this stuff if you know someone. Of course the jumper cables will work too, just be careful. One slip up can get expensive
I think for the windows, just hold button til glass gets to bottom and hold a few seconds. Then go up and do same thing when it gets to the top. Window may stop repeatedly as you do this,so you will have to let off and push button again. The top might be same way. Gotta be some net info somewheres

thanks for the info guys. she ended up going to a MB dealership. 105 out the door, so not terrible since vautozone wanted like 85 anyway. plus they did all the re-coding and shit.
