  • Spark Plugs in 2002 F150 5.4

I am looking to replace my spark plugs in my 2002 F150 5.4 tomorrow.

I went and picked up some NGK TR55 Iridiums. What should they be gapped at?

Any tips in replacing them? I already have a magnetic plug socket.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Easy should be pre-Gapped. I would ohm out the coil packs while they are out or at least replace all of the coil boots/springs.

Ford usually likes to go with a .052-.054 gap on those motors.

Thanks fellas. Took just under 2 hours. They really did not look that bad. I started at 5-8 then moved to 1-4 next. Number 1 was loose and the source of the "ticking" and lack of power. The boot was covered in soot and I am lucky it did not toast the threads.

        It runs so much smoother.

What did you ever decide to do with the frame?

DiAnn and I bolted the bumper back on yesterday and it lines up just fine. Only the last 8-10" of the frame is jacked up but the bumper mount is okay. Once the bumper was back on you can't even tell. I did have to go buy a new plastic valance today though; $187.00.
