Mini tubs

Thinking about doing some smaller tubs on the rear of the Galaxie so I can get a little bigger meat back there but do not wanna go crazy. Anyone had this done and about what did it run you?

You might be able to split the factory wheelwell and add a 2 or 3 inch strip of metal, depending on how close the frame is. Done right it still looks factory.

sdun's method IS a tried and true method of doing it. Still a lot of work but I've seen a few classic stangs done this way.

Everyone has the right idea. Another option is to buy 2 new inner wheel wells (one for each side) and cut the old one out leaving extra material, then add the new one making it wider. This method reduces the welding, grinding and prep work to half.

Are they that small? I thought I'd have to do a minitub on the 69, but I squezed 315's in the factory hole.

Yeahhh maybe I should have looked a little closer. Heck I can get a 10 in wheel in there with room to spare with 6.5 backspacing. I would have to work on the frame to do the mini. I could have swore the tubs were in the way the other day when I was looking at them.
