  • Ford 300 L6 timing gear removal

I acquired another piece of crap today, and am stumped with a problem.
It is a old Ford f150 with a 300 straight six, and the fiber camshaft timing gear has shredded. The problem is I cannot get the damn gears off the cam and crank. Neither gear has holes drilled/tapped to use a two hole puller, there isn't enough space to use a jaw-type puller on the crank gear, and I'm usre using one on the fiber cam gear will just break it to shit.

    Any ideas?

I finally got it, had to cut the top gear center hub after breaking off most of the fiber with a grinder until it could be pulled by hand, and had to weld two bolts to the bottom gear itself and use a balance puller. Some ghetto techniques to just be able to change a timing set.
