You'd better hope it's not the problem I had the last time a distributor wouldn't come out of a block!

This engine was brand new, boss block 349CID, only had about 2 minutes of run time - much like you, I was just verifying timing for whatever reason decided to pull the distributor out. It wouldn't come out. Long story short, the shaft galded on the guide bore where it slides over the oil pump shaft. I had to mutilate the distributor to get it out, broke the body of it, cut the top off, and ended up welding a slide hammer to the remaining shaft. Almost ruined the block.

i had the oil shaft candy cane on me and ruined a pretty much brand new bullit mallory distributor beating on it with a hammer. It had no run time just a couple of bumps to get it to top dead sucked cause the motor had to come back out again!

There is a raised lip on the block that keeps me from getting to the edge of the dizzy... I have it "soaking" in PB blaster. I also tried using a a pair of vise grips to slowly torque it by the neck. No go... This is startin to really scare me. Ill give it a whirrle tomorrow after it soaks all night. ill update.

they do sieze in the block. after you get it out you can apply anti sieze on the collar to prevent it from happening again

holy hell! I have bathed that damn thing several times, and overnight, in PB blaster with no help. I even applied some vice grips to the shaft, also with no change. This sob is on there good... Worried, I am! (watching star wars )
