  • Missfire? Hesitation?

I JUST PERFORMED A TUNE UP ON MY 91LX 5.0. CHANGED THE PLUGS-MOTORCRAFT, WIRES, CAP AND ROTOR..... NOW MY CAR IS MISSING AND BACKFIRING LIKE CRAZY...... I PUT THE OLD CAP AND ROTOR ON TO SEE IF IT WOULD CHANGE AND NO LUCK.... I PUT A NEW COIL AND NO LUCK..... WTF I AM SCRATCHING MY HEAD AND REALLY PISSED...ANY THOUGHTS? COULD IT BE A BAG PLUG/CRACKED NOT GAPPED RIGHT?

Double check that you put the wires on correctly. What firing order did you follow? If that checks out, I would remove each spark plug and look for cracks in the porcelain or any other obvious damage.

Make sure you're seating the boots completely on the plugs also. You should feel or hear a click.

#1 is on the Passenger side. Just start over using a HO firing order

                  4 8
                  3 7
                  2 6
                  1 5
