  • Airbag help

Several years ago I installed a secondary fan in front of my condenser to help with the TX heat on my non-intercooled/blown 331. To do this I had to put a couple of spacers in between my right (passenger) crash sensor and the OE mounting point. FF to today. I removed the fan during my last tear down and installed the sensor back in the original place. Well, my airbag light is flashing with code 84 - Right impact sensor not mounted to vehicle properly.

The two impact sensors are identical so I swapped them, unplugged the battery for a half hour and the code is the same. So, it must be a wiring problem I thought. I checked continuity from the harness to the airbag module and it is fine.

I used the OE bolts and everything. The sensor is grounded fine. WTF could be the problem?

I went thru these tests this wknd and found an amount of resistance that within tolerance. The tolerance was 2.0 ohms and I measured .5 ohms.

Maybe the diagnostic monitor is bad??
