I agree . This is what I am doing for the black car . I have the pistons but they are floaters so I have to get some rods .

I figure that motor spooled up to about 7k will move my fat ass down the track in the mid to low 7's Maybe 6's if I let my wife drive LOL

I would go with something along an anderson n-91 cam, 1.7 rockers, afr 205's, along with a victor intake. You will need the cr in the 11:1 range with head flow close to 300 cfm at .600 lift. That is saying you stay 351 ci... My 347 with a close combo as this, made 420 at the tires un-tuned...

The motor in my vert , when it was in my 85 with a stick and 3.08 gears and a smaller carb ran 7.7's with a soft 1.74 60 ft . I have a crappy stage 1 tfs cam in that thing . With some real gears and a 100 shot it would have been in the low 7's or high 6's easy . With a good cam it probably wood have been there .

BTW , I shifted it at 5k .

Well my suspension is set and rear is set. I'll be using a C-4 with a brake. Shifting gears isnt fun for me when my ass is suckin seat. My car will have a cage in it before the motor goes in because im stupid and would go for a "drive" soon after the first crank up. Those wheels you sold me will have Real slick on them. The car and me will be on a diet very soon.
