The earlier, 1st Gen S-10's came with T-5's. I think they started using the NV3500 in the 2nd Gen's.

Looks like they didn't put a t5 behind a 4.3, unless it was 88. I can't see what the engine requirement for a manual, but hollander says first gen s10 either 2wd or 4, and all 4cyl, and v6 are lumped together.

Did they use a 4.3L in the first gens with a T5? I've done a lot of T5's but can't recall one being available behind the 4.3 specifically in that application. I think there was one available in the Astro Van with a 4.3L and it had a crazy ass shifter base/stick on it.

Looks like 2.8's and 4 bangers had t5's, I haven't found a definate answer, but it doesn't look like it was ever behind a 4.3

Maybe find one from an S10 with the 2.5l Iron Duke engine? I believe that engine has the same bellhousing pattern as the sbc.

              This may help more:

It would let you use your three-speed bellhousing and the S10 V6 (2.8l?) T5.

              Not sure if it helps.

If it matters, I think the pre 87 ones have a mechanical speedo and after have electronic speedo. You can look in the Blazers and Astro vans also although much rarer.

                      Have you checked advance adapters?

Ok, so I have a WC T5 out of a Early '90's Camaro that I'm going to use in my Chevy pickup.

                        What I need is a T5 parts tranny out of an S10 pickup that had a 2.5 4 banger or 2.8 V6.

I'm wanting to change the tailshaft and shift rail/forks to move the shifter forward to work with my bench seat. Where the shifter is now, it comes out under the front edge of the seat and that won't work.

Anyone have, or know where I can get, a T5 from an S10 ? I don't want to spend a bunch of money on a good transmission, because I'm just going to be robbing parts off of it. I've checked Craigslist and haven't found anything that will work.

Any transmission shops I should check that might have the parts I need ?

                        -Aaron

Just make a shifter handle in a C shape.

                            I'd rather not.

If I am correct, he would need a 10"-12" C-shape on the shifter. The S-10 shifter location puts the shifter at a the best spot.

I am no help, but you can try car-parts.com as mentioned before and see if any of the local places might have a tranny.

You might try to contact this guy, he has an S10 5-speed, not sure which though.

This might be the same guy but a different ad.
