  • High Flow cats

Due to the recent noise complaint, my dad wants me to have cats on my car so I don't get a catalytic convertor ticket. I'm thinking some high flows will clean up the sound anyway, but I really don't wanna spend $200 on cats. I was thinking I would just buy some ebay specials and clamp them in, possibly just gut them. Would it clean up the sound/ make it deeper? or would it make it worse?

If you gut them it won't make any differance.

When I took my cats off I noticed it to be slightly louder and deeper, more like what I wanted.

When I took mine off it also made it louder and deeper.. exactly what I didn't want, considering my car made less power than a Toyota Camry.

Mike's right, if you're gutting them it will sound virtually the same. I would say a catted car has a "cleaner" sound. Mine has a catted Bassani X if you remember what it sounds like.

It's always way too far behind me to hear it. No clue here.

You do move quickly when we're on the way to In & Out, I can't argue with that.

Put functional cats back on and replace the mufflers with something less ridiculous.

There is a loud to fast ratio.

If your car is loud as shit and it goes 0-60 In 20 seconds, then thats rice.

If your car is quiet as shit and goes 0-60 In 4 seconds or less, you're a pussy.

Gotta find the sweet spot, my car is very quiet at idle and normal driving. When In the throttle it'll scream, but not to loud because it's slow as shit.
