5 speed swap ?????????

I did a 5 speed swap on my 95gt. The prob I got is the car will start with out the cluch being pressed. I think it has to do with this piece on the steering colum that has a cable that use to go to the auto shifter. do I just remove and unplug.

So after looking its called shiter interlock swich and cable. Can I remove it and unplug.

You can remove the shift interlock stuff, if you want to have to push the clutch into to start then down by the clutch pedal there will be a 2 wire connector with a jumper in it. I believe red with a blue trace. On you clutch pedal assembly there should be a switch with a matching 2 wire connector that you plug into that. It basically interrupts the start signal unless the pedal is down.

Yeah I got it plug in. its got an aftermarket alarm I wonder if who ever put it in messed with it. Or maybe I some how messed up the switch when I put in the pedal assy.
