Best way to clean a trans cooler after converter/trans failure?

cheap electric fuel pump, fuel hose and a 5 gallon bucket with some parts cleaner

We just pump fresh fluid thru till it comes out clean, both ways.

carb cleaner, spray it in and then blow it all out the other side. Repeat this a few times. If you have a cheap pump though I would follow Grapes advise, it sounds like a better idea.

I wonder if Mikes Trickshift would do this for me (for a fee), I dont want to have to source a pump/parts cleaner just for this.

Napa sells a chemical called kooler klean, aerosal can with a cleaner that hooks up and flushes it out. I've had good luck with . Typically two cans does the trick

Parts places should have the spray can trans flush stuff. A hot flush machine would be the preferred method though.

I would put some heat in the fluid with whatever method you choose. Is it just a tube style with fins on it or is it like a small radiator with tanks on both ends?

Yeah that one might be hard to get all the shit out of the core area if there is debris in there. I would just make sure you clean it out really, really well.

Mike would just do what's mentioned above, seen him do it a million times. Blow it out real good with compressed air first, the submerse in parts cleaner and blow it out, repeat the process till the fluid comes out clean.

Mike also has some trans flush that comes in an aerosol can if you can adft it to your lines...

Ya, I am going to pick up the trans/converter tomorrow and he said just bring the cooler and he'll clean it.
