  • code scanner or hand held diagnostic tool

I'd like to get something that is a little more advanced that a simple code scanner and code clearing.

    I don't have motis money.

I seen the blue point one for 400 . At my old shop the owner had a motis and it was awesome, but I don't need something that advanced.

I've been doing side work at the farm for the locals and looking for a nice quick buck and get them in the door basically.

I use to charge 27.00 to clear codes if we didn't fix it and all I did was scan it. We made a ton of money this way.

There is a local free advertiser that gets a lot of traffic that I'm going to use.

Its Modis and you wont be happy with the blue point. You can pick up a used Modis for a couple hundred bucks then just update when needed.

Isn't modis by snap on? And aren't those things like thousands of dollars?

I have the obd1 and obd2 code scanner from craftsman.

It gives live and freeze frame data on obd2. It does more and I got it on sale fr $200. It's normally 300.

              No abs or air bag.

Just the regualar codes. It does more then the average scanner, my main reason was the obd1. I hate flash codes.

It does obd1 for Toyota/Lexus, chrysler/dodge, GM and Ford.

buy an equus/innova. they make several versions for an array of prices. They also make some of the blue point ones. i think the 3140 does obd1/2 and all but abs if i recall right
