  • Fox won't idle when cold

88 Fox 5.0, will not hold a steady idle on first start up. Things I've changed are iac, coolant temp sensor, cleaned the salt and pepper connectors. TPS is set and no check engine light. What next?

Has it always been like this or is this a recent development?

Can you run a KOEO or KOER test?

Just got the finished putting the car together and working out the bugs. Stock 302 with an E cam and exhaust. Unsure of running koeo or koer test, I'll try

E cam is the suck. Had to put an idle plate on my brothers car to help it.

No, mass air now. It will idle fine after less than 5mins "helping" it idle

Something with the air fuel ratio.

I'd say the cam is to suspect.

After 5 mins the engine should be warm enough to go into closed loop and from there the o2 sensors adjust the air fuel ratio, instead of your foot.
