I noticed this bung capped off on my gas tank (03/04 Cobra tank), what is this?

goes to the filler neck on 03/04Ring and pinion specialist -
When I ran my 03 cobra tank I did the exact same thing with no negative side affects.00 GT

the 03 tank I have didn't have a vent bung, I cut the one from my old tank and welded to new tank then sealed with por-15. Been in my 98 for a year and half this way.Comment
