    I would imagine its a design issue. Lots of cars have cylinders that run hotter than others due to intake manifold/ head design.

        i always thought cylinders 7&8 on the Ford motors ran hotter due to the coolant flow path....that was the case on the 03/04 Cobra motors, 2V motors and pushrod motors right?

          Any 4 valve mod motor that didn't come from the factory with a supercharger. Terminators had the newer head castings, otherwise they burn valves in the rear cylinders eventually. Aviator, Navigator, Mach, Cobra, Mark, etc...

          SBCs are good about melting the #7 cylinder first due to engine cooling and the early LT1s (92-93) would melt the rear two from a poorly designed fuel rail that'd lean out the rear cylinders.

          Lots of cars have problems when you start modifying them when they aren't intended to be modified.

              Just get another 1-7 piston and put it in the #8 hole. Problem solved.

                I'm hearing about a lot of oil related failures on race tracks. Not putting one in my car now till someone figures out the mess.
