SBCs are good about melting the #7 cylinder first due to engine cooling and the early LT1s (92-93) would melt the rear two from a poorly designed fuel rail that'd lean out the rear cylinders.
Lots of cars have problems when you start modifying them when they aren't intended to be modified.
