Anyway to Diagnose a Coil Pack?

my moms car is sputtering and i'm going to look at it in the next few days. just never knew how to eliminate a coil pack. 93 bonneville sc. tia

on those cars you can swap the two-pack coil from one to the other. ie. swap the 2/4 coil pack with the 3/5 coil and see if the mis moves....
