  • Vortech kit. Another thread.

So, If everything works out, I'll have my Vortech V-1 S-trim head unit very soon, hopefully this week. I'm trading my termi seats for 97 cobra seats to pay for it.

    Here is my list:

    - Coolant Crossover $229 new
    - Bracket assembly $269 new
    - Discharge assembly $ 264 new
    - Air intake assembly $ 254 new
    - Oil Feed Assembly $22 new
    - Oil Drain assembly $ 23 new
    - SVT focus fuel pump $60 on ebay
    - 03 cobra injectors 39# $100 or less used
    - ev6-ev1 adapters $30
    - New plugs $16
    - 90mm Lightning maf ( do I need it? ) $79 on ebay
    - Dyno Tune- $300

That puts me at approx. $1597 before selling my C&l cold air intake. and thats mostly new stuff. I'm sure I can find most of it cheaper used.

True that!! lol. I'll probably auction those off considering they are so legendary around here or trade them for some 4.10's.

No hang them in your garage. 4.10 are too much as well I would go 3.73 or 55

I thought about framing them and putting them in my room. I'll probably just commemorate them with a liscence plate like:

          456TO1
          456 KID
          Mr456
          FOFI6
          Or something lol.

Idk what gear I'll do quite yet. I know of alotta guys that run 4.10's with more power than me.

4.10's would be fine with that setup.

Talk to the tuner about the MAF. I remember some tuners not liking the Pro M MAFs for some reason. I ended up having to buy another one.

Use the stock MAF for now.

Won't have the cash to intercool. What's the downside to not cooling?

More prone to detanation when it's hot out, also a big drop in power when the temp rises too.

You're gonna hate spending $4.xx a gallon for 93 octane once you go boosted. Unless your parents are footing the gas bill.

Sucks too, I just swapped all my old Cobra stuff to a guy for some wheels and other parts. Had brand new FMS 42# injectors, a Pro M 80mm MAF, and a Walbro 255 Cobra intank pump, all brand new and left over from when I had my Vobra

It's not a problem to do it non-intercooled, but look into it for later... as in ASAP. Seriously a 30-50WHP difference.
