  • Secod gear won't go in?

Today out of nowhere second started giving me issues. My clutch cable was loose, I fixed that the clutch engages plenty and it's still grinding, it's not the sycros it only grinds when i engage the clutch. So it's not going In, I adjusted the stop bolts back, and it's still doing it.

    What is the problem?

The shift from neutral to 1st is the same throw and neutral to 3rd and nuetral to 2nd and 4th are the same once it engages.

Something is keeping it from engaging, even when the car is off.

My first thought was bent shift fork, but if that was the case why does it engage sometimes and be just as good and solid as fourth?

Hmm, I really haven't hammered second too hard recently so to me it's kind of a surprise.

It will go back, its just not easy, and only sometimes.

      ???

Could it be a shifter issue?

It will do it even when the car is off, I find that odd.

Or I can press and hold the clutch ad wait for the transmission to stop and it still won't Engage.

Still running the POS adjustable cable?

As mentioned in at least two previous threads.

You can get a Ford cable with the new clutch fork from DM.

It's steeda, came with the kit..

I didn't mean clutch fork, I meant shift fork.

The cable is fine I believe, I'll check it out after work tomorrow.

if it's ONLY 2nd gear and it's still hard to get in without the engine running, it's the shift fork
