opinion on gears?

Since I'm daily driving the stang now, I'm getting around 21-22mpg highway if I baby it. Since I drive almost 80 miles a day, my 4:30's aren't cutting it no more. So I'm debating on 3.73 or back to stock(3.55).

I looked online somewheres and saw that with the 3.73's there's only like a 200 rpm difference at highway speeds. I guess it depends on the application though. But I'm with Clevelandkid.

Just paid some stuff off and got stuff that I need for house, so beater is out for at least a 1 and half. Figure if I go back to 3.55 or 3.73, I could possibly hit upwards of around 28mpg. That would probably save me at least 40-50$ a month.

Doubtful.. but 3.55 will do better for you.

I have 4.10's in my 6 and I barely get 18 mpg

Only reason I was guessing around 28 is that I was getting around 26 before the 4.30's,cai, and CMDP's. Figured going back to stock gears but with more power, I could do a tad better on highway. More power in engine and less effort if I take it easy on highway. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's the reason I'm asking.
