Same here. I got the one where you can get a new insert when changing the clutch out and it has saved me money in the long run. Been running it for 2 1/2 years now without issues and I put about 20k miles on the car a year

The 03-04 Cobra's had an aluminum flywheel stock, it has nothing to do with getting the car out of the hole, it doesnt affect that, it is lighter rotational object just like an aluminum drive shaft. The aluminum flywheels have a steel insert that tends to warp so you have to replace it more often than a billet steel one. They can come apart on hard launches are the down falls. It does affect the idle coming back down slower than a stock one because there is less rotational force to slow it down.

I run one on a 93 Coupe with a 331 stroker. You will have to learn how to launch on the street since it does change the low end. But, after 3 or four stop light take offs you will get the feel. One thing to remember is that there is less of a "Hit" on the drive train when you shift aggressively......a little less torque at higher speed. I like mine, and would put in another one should I need it. If you have a blower or turbo car, you will spool up quicker. I like the crisp and quick "Raps" when you hit the throttle. Just an old guy's thoughts.

actually the aluminum one should decelerate faster because there is less inertia to keep it spinning.

A heavy boulder going downhill has a lot more energy to keep going than a prop boulder made out of styrofoam.

Sounds like there's some varying opinions here. Some of you say you don't notice, while others say you'll definitely notice something. I think I'll go with the chromoly or billet one, just to be on the safe side. Ditch a little weight, but not too much.

I've run them in a few daily driver Mustangs and I noticed no difference whatsoever in taking off from a stop in normal driving. '03/04 Cobra flywheel is aluminum stock and you don't ever hear anybody bitching about them. If you are launching it on slicks at the track you might get a slight bog if you don't have enough gear.
