Need help - electric fan install/conversion on a fox

      On the mark viii fan I have, it looks like you could trim about 3/4-1 inch off, but then it looks like it would be dangerously close to the radiator.

      the motor is offset from the wp too

        Not sure if I understand what you need but here is my setup which I believe is from a Chrysler Intrepid and I'm using the DCC 2-speed controller. I think the clearance is less than the ~5" you described above.

          Did you try to flip the fan over and install it? I had a big alum Rad and was able to make a mark 8 fan fit ..

            I'm not sure what you mean. You talking about flipping upside down? I did try that but it didnt work.



            Thanks for everyones help. I was able to make the 98 mark viii fan work. A shimmy here, a trim there, 1/8 in here, 1/4 in there and I have about an 1/8 of clearance between the fan and water pump and crank pulley.

            Man does this thing move some air. Drove the car about 40 miles last night and it never got above 165-170. Hopefully it will do well when it gets real hot out.

              Good to hear, thread was helpful in answering some of my ?s about elec fan conversion as well. Can't wait to see pics to see how it came out...
