Got a question... Do the first gen fusion's have a/c issues?? We bought a 07 from *** Ford and it immediately had probs. Made a noise in the front end and suspension. After several attempts to fix it, it was eventually traded out with a 09 fusion. I am now noticing a similar noise up front upon startup. As soon as engine starts it squeels for a second. Im getting a little irritated with the dealer and the fusion. Anyone have similar issues with there fusion?
    -both were 4 cylinder autos.
-current 09 Fusion SE with 40,000 miles. "certified" with powertrain warranty. Thats a whole nuther topic that ill end up popping a blood vessel in my neck about... "certified..."

My wife is also running me ragged with new noises and shimmies with this car. Shes EXTRA observant now after our first fusion pos. Im tryin to tell her that most things sound normal and that its the way a 4 banger ford sounds. Shes comparing it to her 03 passat 1.8t. That was a pos, but she says it runs better.

I had written up a few that had a squeal on startup. I think there's a TSB out for it to replace either the belt tensioner or idler pulley, and the belt. Can't remember for sure though. I do believe it was covered under powertrain oddly enough. If not powertrain, it's definitely covered under the Ford ESP Premium-Care. As far as the A/C goes, I never saw anything consistent enough to say it was a problem. Just that squeal on startup, and some suspension noise were the only common problems with the fusions. For the most part though, they are great cars.

there is a tsb for front strut noise at low speeds (1-10MPH) and parking lot manuevers, yet none for squealing at startup, although I do recall a lot of belt tsbs and tensioners on similar models

I know it says it's for earlier models, but I wrote some of them up on newer models as well.

Had an 08' SE 4cyl and had 42K on it before I traded it back in feb. I noticed the same noise on start up and by sheer luck did something where it never did it again. On start up, if you quickly bump the key and then release when starting the car, I bet it will stop. I have no idea why this worked but it did.

if it only exists for earlier models, how did you use it for later models, without ford warranty kicking it back for not applying to that year model

My name is Josh, and I don't write service anymore. I worked at Five Star Ford though for a while.
