Trump isn't a standard republican and he's not going to tow the party line. He's going to do what he believes is right. We understood that when we voted for him, hoping he would do just that. He's not perfect and isn't going to always make us happy, but he is and always will be still miles ahead of your candidate.

Trump switching platforms?

I support it. He's being the pragmatic guy we voted for. He's taking the two Gordian Knots of politics - the dems obstruction and the repubs failure theater - and unravelling them both by cutting them in two, with one move.
People voted for Trump to get shit done. He is doing that by any means available to him. If the repubs want to dick around not doing a damn thing, he'll work with dems. If dems want to do their obstructionist bullshit, he'll put a deal together that would have them keel hauled in the 2018 midtems or saying no to it, and daring them to do it. Them doing so makes the next deal harder for the moderate dems in repub states to say no to.
If we wanted the same repub and Democrat trope, we'd have voted for Bush in the primaries and Hillary in the general.
People will eventually realize that it isn't the Republican platform, but Trump's platform. The repub party was just the vehicle he drove to the White House.
He relentlessly mocked and insulted the repub party throughout his entire candidacy, and deservedly so. You'd think someone so hated by the repub establishment would be someone the dems would like.
Politics and strange bedfellows, I suppose.Last edited by sc281; 09-07-2017, 07:37 PM.

No shit, the just bitch slapped the spineless republicans. They need to know they don't run the game he does. Smart move on his part.
Dems get basically nothing but to be able to pat one and other on the back. And the spineless republicans get a wake up call.
The art of the deal.
