These are not my current, personal feelings, but ones I have thought about before when I was having a FTP moment and trying to understand why I felt that way.

When a soldier goes out to battle, he srecognizes the enemy because of his uniform, not the living, breathing father or son inside that uniform. It's nothing personal. The reason someone would want to kill you just because you are a cop is because they have declared war on your uniform.

I wish you and all of your fellow policemen a safe and positive day.
Yeah, I know this. I was trying to make a point and this thread got derailed by a few.

This is why I asked why someone would want to kill me, not kill cops.

I have tried to find the interview I was told about where a young black female supposedly said "what if he killed some of the good cops?" Sad on so many levels.

Please show me where I have said anyone in this thread wants to kill cops. I can't read what I want into peoples responses, just like what you are doing to mine? Come on, seriously?

Except for extremely rare circumstances individual officers are only targets when they are personally involved in criminal activities and they get killed by their fellow officers who are also up to no good. The badge on your chest and the uniform that you wear is the target, not you.

Welcome back. I missed your post when you decided to exit the old board.

How stupid do you think the citizenry at large is and how stupid do police officers have to be to not see what is right in front of their face?
Shame on me for answering you, but here goes. If the police were no longer writing tickets, would you still be a FTP type hater? Just trying to see if it is all about citations being written.

I have said many times, I never made it a large part of my police career.

I am not a FTP type; I am more of a law and order type of guy and that I can think of I haven't gotten a ticket in 10 + years. My adopted father was also a police officer when my mom married him and I grew up around police officers.

My issue with the police doesn't come from anything that they can do much about. I just have a huge problem with the unjust laws that they are tasked to enforce. Almost none of the laws that I have a problem with have any effect on me, I just have a moral issue with them.

Like it or not; you are the jack booted thug who is just following orders. That doesn't mean that I do not like you though.

Other than traffic laws, which ones specifically are unjust?

Almost without exception every single law that is malum prohibitum. Not to mention the loss of personal property rights in regards to the civil forfeiture laws and the governments war on the bill of rights.

None of us probably will due to the fact that we're probably not a lunatic. Sure we may get pissed at cops, I know I have, when we get a ridiculous ticket for speeding on a road that should've been posted with a higher speed limit to begin with, but that doesn't mean I want to kill a cop. This probably applies to most, if not all of us here.

Only laws I saw that municipal law enforcement are involved in are weapons violations and illegal drug use. Man, elect officials to repeal those laws and the local law enforcement will be off the cop haters radar I guess.

I get that. Some of my intent was to start some discussion and see what others who are very critical of law enforcement think. Nothing really new or earth shattering going on in here.

I am going to retire very soon. I find this situation very sad and think we are at critical mass for anarchy to erupt.

Don't forget that the militarization of the police is also not viewed well. It's kind of hard to think of policemen as fathers and sons when they are decked out in preparation for a civil war against normal citizens.

Is there any question that this equipment is intended to mow down thousands of people when it comes to that?

Unless you use a weapon to unjustly assault someone with I do not believe that there should even be the possibility of a weapons violation except in very limited cases that should only apply to people who are on probation, parole, or who are behind bars.

I do not believe that there should be any laws that make drugs of any type a criminal offense but I do support the civil regulation of all types of drugs. Medicinal drugs need to be prescribed by an person with medical traing and recreational drugs need to be regulated the way alcohol is.

Elections do nothing to slow down the federal regulatory state. What is needed is a complete rest of the system as a whole and the complete dismantling of the federal regulatory state.

This is VERY true. I know, or at least I think I know, when the day comes that I witness something like this being used on the masses, all bets are off. I know that the LEO's will just be "following orders" but still...
