In Baton Rouge, they WERE responding to a call of a man waiving his gun outside a convenience store. In the cops' minds, they had a crime to stop. When they arrived, he got confrontational and began resisting arrest - while carrying. All I can say is, that's a really dumb thing to do, and the video shows why.
The Minnesota shooting was just straight up trigger-happy murder. The dude wasn't resisting. He told the cop he had a gun and went to get his license, as the cop had ordered. There was no reason to shoot.
I'm not convinced that black people have more to worry about from cops than their own brethren. But I do think the cops were wrong to shoot in both these cases. When the government pays, the government controls.

The cop didn't ask him to show his weapon. The victim told him he had a gun and a license, then reached for his wallet to get out his driver's license - as directed by the cop. When the government pays, the government controls.

The guy in LA was being an asshole and started to reach for his gun, to either defend himself or to chunk it. Both moves were under the "play stupid games" column.Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.
