Also got 4 years of college paid for, another 4 by the state of Texas, free driver's license, 3 dollar a year plates, free parking at airports and state parks, oh and zero property or school taxes.

You paid me to do a job and I did it. I'd have done it for free (and pretty much did if you look at hours vs pay) but I'm honored to have served the Republic and her people. I still try to do my part in DC and the state legislature.

Those here who know me know I never talk about my benefits or paycheck. It's not relevant other than I thank all of you taxpayers for it. FT always throwing out his union leech BS irritates me.

Your turn FT. I posted up some of my benefits. No unions. What do you have? My cards are on the table. I also forgot to mention every dime is tax free, I have 100% covered dental and medical and psych care, most businesses offer military discounts and I get automatic veteran's hiring preference on state and federal jobs AND then you add the purple heart preference. I also get free plane trips, space available. I also get curb side assistance from the TSA. They pick up my bags from my car, walk me and check my gear in, walk me to the front of the line at the security station, run me through a metal detector and then escort me to the plane. Sometimes, the agent even buys me a coke.

So FT, how do you measure up? And don't you owe someone a grand for not showing your paycheck against theirs?

FT gets free train rides though, and that little perk alone more than offsets the benefits you speak of above. After all, can you make solid barg that you get to experience firsthand the thrill of riding in a choochoo engine and pulling a little cord that makes a train whistle go "toot-toot-toot"?

No one in my union is a "Lower Paid Member." So I guess this doesn't apply to me or my union. If you're only making $8 to $10 an hour you got bigger problems than a union. I'd look for a career in a different line of work. Of course I also believe that only skilled, specialized, and licensed professions should be able to form unions in the first place. We don't need a lunch lady union, or a semstress union. All those do is cheapen the cause of the legitimate unions.

That's like being excited you can ride a bike as you're being passed by cars. I can't think of anyone who would take a train anywhere versus a car or plane. In a car you get privacy and comfort and on a plane you get speed. A train is pretty much a semi on rails. Haul goods but it's days of being the go to transportation for people are long past
